Spatial-temporal analytical models

Dr. Tatem’s research focuses on spatial demography, the role of human movement in vector-borne disease transmission, and the integration of GIS and remote sensing approaches with mathematical models of malaria dynamics. His recent work includes the development of novel approaches for detailed human population mapping across large areas, including the initiation of the AfriPop project, and the use of these data for malaria burden and intervention needs estimation and elimination planning through involvement in the Malaria Atlas Project.
